MYP Math Tutoring has been phenomenal for me. My math tutor has been amazing at simplifying complex problems into small, shorter problems, which are much easier to solve and then you understand the concept more intuitively.
MateoGrade 12 DP StudentInternational School of AmsterdamWe are so thankful for being introduced to MYP Math Tutor. Our child’s confidence and his actual ability – it’s just amazing, the difference in a year. We can’t thank Shannon enough… She’s on hand when we need her, and she provides updates. We look forward to continuing with her after the summer.
KateParent of a Grade 9 MYP StudentInternational School HilversumOur experience has been great. Our son got support for both DP SL maths and HL chem. Both tutors are working out to be a great fit for him. He is finding both really helpful especially to explain material he has covered quickly in class and his confidence particularly in math has grown immensely.
We have really appreciated the help as it has helped my daughter’s grades improve. We knew she could do well, she just needed a little extra time to grasp the concepts with some 1:1 explanation.
Ready for your child to feel this confident? Schedule their first lesson today.
Solving problems with the maths learned in class, in familiar and unfamiliar situations.
Spotting patterns, describing them as general rules and justifying why they work.
Explaining reasoning clearly with correct notation, diagrams and a logical line of working.
Modelling real situations, choosing a strategy and checking the answer makes sense.
While many tutoring services are provided by college students, all 25+ of our tutors are qualified teachers with several years of experience teaching MYP mathematics at IB World Schools, and several are examiners or department heads.
Lessons strengthen understanding of all four MYP mathematics criteria, with a particular focus on criteria B, C and D tasks.
We believe that building rapport is the most important part of learning, so students feel safe to ask questions and take risks.
Lessons follow what your child is learning at school, delivered on Lessonspace, an interactive online classroom.
A message from our founder
In 2022, I started MYP Math Tutor with a goal: to improve student engagement and understanding in MYP mathematics, focusing on criteria B, C, and D tasks.
We’re currently working with 200+ students, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in MYP mathematics, and also prepare them for the rigours of the IB DP.
What sets us apart? While many tutoring services are provided by college students, our team consists of experienced educators who truly understand the MYP.
The outcome? Our students are confident, have a deep understanding of the MYP, and are enthusiastic about learning math. Students aren’t just grasping the four criteria, they’re excelling – many of them scoring 7’s or 8’s across the board.
We’re excited to work with your child to help make MYP maths more straightforward and achievable.

We’ll match your child with the right teacher for their programme, time zone and goals.
No, we only offer online support. We ensure high quality learning can occur by the use of proven teaching strategies by our exceptional team, personalized lessons, and an interactive platform, Lessonspace.
You’ll receive a link to join in your browser (no app needed), where your child works with their tutor on current topics and assessment preparation using a collaborative whiteboard.
We use Lessonspace for our lessons.
Lessons are personalized based on what your child is currently learning at school. Tutors assess prior knowledge, teach through inquiry, and help students strengthen their understanding of MYP Mathematics Criteria for upcoming assessments.
MYP Math Tutor is not “homework help”. We guide students through concepts so that they can understand and gain confidence, and be able to complete their homework independently.
Pick a time that suits you in the calendar. We’ll talk about your child and the best way to help, with no obligation.
