Part 1: Tutoring handbook
Welcome to MYP Math Tutor! This first section is considered to be our handbook that covers key details about our tutoring services, including scheduling, payments, and cancellations. It is an essential part of our full Terms and Conditions, which follow below.
Weekly Tutoring Lessons
- Online Platform: All tutoring sessions are conducted exclusively through Lessonspace to ensure quality. Other platforms are not permitted.
- Scheduling: We use Teachworks for scheduling, tracking sessions, sending notifications, and invoicing. All sessions must be scheduled through Teachworks.
- Weekly Sessions: A fixed weekly 1-hour time slot will be set for your lessons. Additional hours can be requested based on availability.
- Internet Responsibility: Both clients and tutors must ensure a stable and fast internet connection.
- One-on-One Instruction: Our tutors primarily provide individualized tutoring sessions.
- Language: Sessions are conducted in English, unless both the tutor and student agree on another language.
- Tutor Selection: While you may request a preferred tutor, final assignments are based on availability, time zone, and program expertise.
Fees and Payment
- MYP Sessions: €80 per hour (effective January 1st, 2026)
- DP Sessions: €92 per hour (effective January 1st, 2026)
- Current prices: the prices above are current as of 1 January 2026. Any change is announced in advance and shown on our pricing page.
- VAT Exemption: Our lessons are VAT-exempt under Dutch tax regulations.
- Billing: Invoices are sent on the 2nd day of each month, covering the previous month’s sessions. Each session’s details will be included.
- Payment Methods: Payments are processed via Stripe and can be made using:
- Credit Card
- iDEAL
- Direct Bank Transfer
- Payment Due Date: Payments must be made within 14 days of invoice issuance.
- Late Payments: A 15% late fee applies if payment is not received by the due date.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Tardiness
- A reminder email is sent 6 hours before each session.
- If a student is late, the tutor will send another reminder email 5–10 minutes into the session.
- If the student does not join within 15 minutes, the tutor will exit the call, and the session will be charged in full.
- If a student experiences an unstable internet connection, the session is marked as missed and is fully charged.
Session Cancellations
- Cancellations must be made via Teachworks or by emailing the tutor directly.
- A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations.
- Late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice) will be considered missed sessions and will be fully charged.
School Holidays
- Clients must notify tutors of school holidays at least one week in advance.
- Tutors and students are free to schedule their own holidays. As we operate globally, there are no fixed holiday periods.
Grievances & Expectations
- No Grade Guarantees: While we strive to provide excellent tutoring, we cannot guarantee grade improvement.
- IB Curriculum: We strictly follow the IB MYP and IB DP curriculum. We are not required to implement local teaching techniques.
- Tutor Reassignment: If a student is dissatisfied with a tutor, we will try to reassign a tutor if possible.
- No Refunds: Refunds are not granted if the student does not achieve the desired results.
Privacy & Data Protection
- Data Collection: We only collect necessary personal data for scheduling, communication, and payments.
- Tutor Access: Your assigned tutor will have access to relevant personal data.
- Lesson Recordings: All lessons are recorded and stored for 90 days for quality control and unusual event reviews.

Part 2: Full terms and conditions
These are the full terms and conditions of MYP Math Tutor (MYP Math Tutor). MYP Math Tutor is registered in the Netherlands with the Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) under number: 97673811.

MYP Math Tutor reserves the right to change these terms and conditions. You agree that the most recent version of these terms and conditions apply. Parties may deviate from these Terms and Conditions in writing.
1. Services
We offer the following services: online one-on-one math tuition.
2. Applicability of these General Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to every offer, proposal and assignment between MYP Math Tutor and you (Client). On request, MYP Math Tutor shall send these terms and conditions to you, free of charge. They are also available on www.mypmathtutor.com.
3. Establishment of the Assignment
The assignment shall be deemed established when the Client consents to the service.
4. Proposals and Offers
- All offers and proposals from MYP Math Tutor are non-binding, unless agreed otherwise in writing. An offer or proposal only applies to the assignment specified therein (and not to possible future assignments).
- If the Client provides MYP Math Tutor with certain information, MYP Math Tutor may assume that the provided information is correct and will base the proposal on that information.
5. Pricing
- MYP Math Tutor can raise the price in the interim in the case of unforeseen and cost price increasing circumstances, if these circumstances occur after the establishment of the assignment.
- In case MYP Math Tutor has raised prices due to the circumstances referred to in the previous section, the Client has the right to annul the assignment. The Client will be charged for costs incurred for working hours or the execution of parts of the assignment. The Client in such a case has no right to compensation or damages.
- An offered price does not include expenses for MYP Math Tutor and does not include taxes or levies by the authorities.
6. Payment and Collection Charges
- The Client must pay within fourteen days after the invoice date. MYP Math Tutor shall send an invoice monthly on the 2nd of each month.
- If the payment by Client is due, he will automatically be in default (verzuim), without a notice of default (ingebrekestelling) being required. In case of default, Client owes MYP Math Tutor an interest of 15%, unless the statutory interest (in case he is a consumer) or alternatively the statutory commercial interest, is higher. In that case Client owes that interest. The interest on the payable amount is calculated from the moment that the payment is due, until the moment that the payable amount has been paid by Client in full.
- If Client does not pay in time, he shall immediately be in default. He will then be due to MYP Math Tutor all extrajudicial costs. In the case an invoice amounts to € 267, these costs will be € 40. In case of a higher invoice amount, the maximum collection fees are as follows:
- 15% on the first € 2,500;
- 10% on the part that remains thereafter, up to € 5,000;
- 5% on the part that remains thereafter, up to € 10,000;
- 1% on the part that remains thereafter, to € 200,000;
- 0.5% on the remaining part, whereby the total collection fees are maximised to € 6,775.
- Any outstanding amounts by the Client are immediately payable in the following cases:
- Client fails to pay within the payment term;
- Client is bankrupt or applied for a suspension of payment or any other insolvency procedure;
- Client (company) is dissolved or liquidated;
- Client (private individual) is placed under guardianship or deceased.
7. Duration
- Client and MYP Math Tutor enter into the contract for an indefinite period of time, unless Parties agree otherwise.
- The agreement can be terminated, by both parties, at any moment, without respecting a notice period.
8. Third Parties
MYP Math Tutor may involve third parties to (partially) perform the activities. The following articles of the Dutch Civil Act (Burgerlijk Wetboek) do not apply:
- 7:404 (execution by a certain person);
- 7:407 sub 2 (joint and several liability);
- 7:409 (death of a certain person).
9. Execution of the Assignment
- MYP Math Tutor shall execute the assignment to the best of its knowledge and abilities and according to the requirements of professional practice.
- Client shall timely provide MYP Math Tutor with all information or material required for the execution of the assignment.
- If Client does not provide the material or information in time, MYP Math Tutor may suspend the execution of the assignment and charge additional costs, resulting from the delay. MYP Math Tutor is not liable for any damages, resulting from incorrect or incomplete information, provided by Client.
10. Changes of the Assignment
- If it proves to be necessary to change the assignment during the activities in order to guarantee a decent execution of the assignment, parties shall negotiate the required changes and agree on them in writing.
- If parties agree on altering the assignment, MYP Math Tutor may raise or lower the price. If possible, MYP Math Tutor shall provide a quotation to the Client in advance. The execution time may change with a change of the assignment. Client agrees on the possibility to change the assignment, the pricing and the execution time.
- MYP Math Tutor may refuse a request, made by Client, to change the assignment if such changes could affect the quality or quantity of the activities.
11. Suspension, Dissolution
- MYP Math Tutor may temporarily suspend the execution of the activities if he cannot comply because of force majeure.
- If the execution of the assignment is permanently impossible parties may cancel the assignment for the part that has not been fulfilled.
- MYP Math Tutor may suspend or cancel the assignment if the Client fails to meet its obligations, partially, completely or in time. In such cases, the Client shall compensate MYP Math Tutor for damages.
12. Termination in the Interim
- If MYP Math Tutor cancels the assignment in the interim, MYP Math Tutor shall ensure a handover of the work yet to be performed to a third party, unless the termination is imputable to Client. If the handover of the activities leads to additional costs for MYP Math Tutor, these costs shall be borne by Client.
- MYP Math Tutor may immediately cancel the assignment (and is not liable for any damages doing so) in one of the following events:
- Client fails to pay within the payment term;
- Client is declared bankrupt or applied for suspension of payments, or applied or becomes subject to any other insolvency procedure;
- Client (the company) is dissolved or liquidated;
- The occurrence of circumstances in which Client can no longer freely dispose of his capital.
13. Force Majeure
- MYP Math Tutor is not obliged to comply in the event of force majeure.
- MYP Math Tutor may suspend the obligations, coming from the assignment, for as long as the force majeure continues.
- If MYP Math Tutor complied with a part of its obligations, and that part has an independent value, MYP Math Tutor may charge that part to Client.
14. Complaints
- Client shall notify MYP Math Tutor in writing of any complaints within one month after detection (or –on invisible shortcomings– after he could have detected it).
- A timely notified complaint does not suspend or cancel any payment obligation resting on the Client.
- If the Client does not notify MYP Math Tutor timely, the Client is not entitled to any recovery, replacement or compensation.
- If it is established that the complaint is justified and the notification by the Client thereof was timely delivered, MYP Math Tutor shall recover, replace or compensate it’s work within a reasonable term after notification of the shortcoming, in writing from the Client.
- If it is established that a complaint is not justified, the Client shall compensate MYP Math Tutor for made expenses (like research costs).
15. Liability
- MYP Math Tutor is only liable for direct damages suffered by the Client as a direct consequence of a shortcoming by MYP Math Tutor.
- MYP Math Tutor is not liable for any damages resulting from MYP Math Tutor due to incorrect or incomplete information provided by Client.
- The liability of MYP Math Tutor shall never exceed the amount paid by its insurer.
- If MYP Math Tutor’s professional liability insurer does not cover the damages, MYP Math Tutor’s liability is limited to the amount paid by the Client. Under no circumstances can this liability exceed the amount of €1000.
- The limitations set out in this article do not apply if the damages are the result of a deliberate act or gross negligence.
16. Limitation Period
The limitation period on all claims and defences against MYP Math Tutor is one year.
17. Indemnification
- Client indemnifies MYP Math Tutor from any claims by third parties, who suffer damages, resulting from the execution of the assignment but cannot be attributed to MYP Math Tutor.
- If third parties address MYP Math Tutor to be liable for damages resulting from the execution of the assignment, the Client shall support MYP Math Tutor both judicial and extrajudicial and the Client shall do what may be expected from him.
- If the Client does not provide the support described in paragraph 2, MYP Math Tutor may take the actions it deems required. All expenses and damages made by MYP Math Tutor in this respect shall be borne by the Client.
18. Intellectual Property
- All the plans, documents, pictures, drawings, programming, creations and related information, made by MYP Math Tutor, remain property of MYP Math Tutor. This also applies if related expenses are charged or when these are improved, later on.
- The Client can only copy the aforementioned properties if it is for internal use within Client’s company and cannot show the properties to third parties or put the properties at disposal in a different manner than originally intended by MYP Math Tutor.
- Client and MYP Math Tutor shall agree on more detailed arrangements, in separate agreements, on certain licenses, given to Client by MYP Math Tutor. If parties do not agree on further terms concerning the licenses, MYP Math Tutor grants Client a non-transferable license to use the works, made by MYP Math Tutor (like: software, designs, illustrations or any other creation), for an indefinite period of time.
19. Non-Disclosure
- MYP Math Tutor shall not disclose any of Client’s information to third parties, unless MYP Math Tutor is required by a statutory or professional obligation to disclose the information.
- MYP Math Tutor shall not use any information, obtained from Client, in a different manner than originally intended, except that the information may be used in a legal procedure that involves MYP Math Tutor and the information can be of importance.
- The Client shall not disclose the contents of agreements, confirmations, offers, reports, advice or other expressions from MYP Math Tutor, whether they are in writing or not.
20. Nullity
If any part of these conditions is void or voidable, this does not alter the validity of the remainder of these conditions. The invalid or unenforceable part shall be replaced by a provision that most closely follows the content of the invalid provision.
21. Conflicting Provisions
If any of the provisions from these terms and conditions are in conflict with a provision from an agreement, the provisions of these terms and conditions shall prevail.

Dutch law.
