Online lessons mean your child spends an hour a week, one-to-one, with an adult you may never meet in person. Here is how we make sure that hour is safe.
Six things that are true of every tutor and every lesson at MYP Math Tutor.
All of our tutors are qualified teachers with classroom experience in IB World Schools, not college students or hobby tutors.
At interview, every tutor provides their degrees and current teaching credentials, and a full list of every school they have taught at.
We contact schools from that list to check references before a tutor joins the team.
Most of our tutors are referred by colleagues already on the team. We know each other personally and work closely together on lessons, resources and projects.
Tutors teach from a private, enclosed space, never a public place, so your child’s lesson stays between them and their teacher.
All lessons are recorded for safeguarding and safety. If you ever have a concern about a lesson, we can review exactly what happened.
Before a tutor teaches a single lesson with us, we have seen their qualifications, know where they have taught, and have spoken to people who worked with them. Because most of our tutors come to us through other tutors on the team, we usually already know them.
Lessons take place on our online classroom, which you can log in to as a parent. Your child’s tutor teaches from a private room, and every lesson is recorded. Recordings are kept for safeguarding purposes and are only reviewed if a parent, student or tutor raises a concern.
We match your child with one tutor and keep that pairing consistent, so you always know who is teaching your child. If anything ever feels wrong, you can change tutor or stop at any time.
Contact Rachel Bodily, our founder, directly at info@mypmathtutor.com. Every concern is looked into personally, and you will hear back from us within one working day.
